Job Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities
Position Overview
The Marketing / Proposal Manager is a key contributor to the success and growth of Megen Construction company by leading marketing initiatives, proposal development, supporting business development efforts, and ensuring brand compliance. This role collaborates across departments and external stakeholders to create compelling marketing materials, maintain brand integrity, and develop strong client relationships.
Marketing Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing strategies in collaboration with the executive team aligned with corporate goals and business growth objectives.
- Oversee the creation of marketing collateral, including brochures, presentations, newsletters, and social media content
- Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and prepare supporting marketing materials and presentations.
- Support business development efforts through research, client insights, and impactful presentations
- Participate in industry, professional services marketing, and community organizations to help maintain and grow existing relationships with clients, consultants, and the local community
- Manage a small marketing team, mentoring them in marketing, proposals, and professional development.
- Ensure brand consistency across all materials by adhering to established standards.
- Plan and manage events such as trade shows, groundbreakings, internal celebrations, and client appreciation events.
- Create graphic design assets for internal and external events including a large, annual non-profit gala supported by the company.
- Manage relationships with vendors for printing, promotional items, photography, and other marketing needs.
- Create engaging digital and print campaigns to strengthen client relationships and attract new business.
- Manage the creation order, and distribution of promotional items, logo apparel, and signage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Preconstruction, HR, Operations, Accounting) to create graphics.
- Write engaging marketing materials, newsletters, presentations, and social media posts.
- Oversee website design, performance, and maintenance.
- Maintain consistency in brand visuals, values, and messaging.
- Prepare press releases, award submissions, and external communications.
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and manage proposal libraries effectively.
Proposal Responsibilities
- Participate in Go No Go decisions and coordinate proposal kickoff meetings with directors, division leaders, and external partners.
- Lead the preparation, writing, compliance, production, and submission of proposals, RFQs, RFPs, and SF330s, ensuring alignment with client requirements and deadlines.
- Collaborate with project teams, subject matter experts, company leadership, and external team members to gather content and develop winning proposals.
- Maintain and update the company’s library of reusable content, including project and technical narratives, staff resumes, project cut sheets, photography, charts, and other proposal assets.
- Conduct project closeout meetings with project team leaders to compile detailed project information for future marketing use.
- Maintain organized records of proposals, completed projects, division revenue , certifications, insurance documents, and other required submission materials using logs and spreadsheets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years (5 years minimum)experience as a Marketing Manager preferably within the construction or A/E/C industry.
- Strong proposal writing and content development skills.
- Proficiency in graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign.
- Knowledgeable in using Teams and SharePoint.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Travel as needed; (10%-20%) to local, regional, national meetings, conferences, and events.
