About the Job
Orbit is seeking an analytical and digital oriented Marketing Manager to join our New York based team. This role will work focus on Marketing campaigns for our new Orbit Works digital imprint, as well as executing digital marketing activity for the Orbit list.
This position is based in our NY office on a two-day a week hybrid model.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee marketing activity for our digital imprint Orbit Works: with a strong focus on digital marketing and advertising.
- Manage marketing activity for Orbit Works titles, approximately 1-2 per month, utilizing the unique opportunities presented by digital-first publication.
- Coordinate with publicity, editorial, and digital sales departments to maximize effectiveness of campaigns.
- Develop reports and communicate analytics and propose adjustments to tactics based on data.
- Manage programs that contribute to Orbit’s overall channel marketing and social media strategy.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- 3+ years experience in book publishing, publicity, marketing, journalism, or related field; or transferable skills
- Knowledge of social media marketing, and the e-book publishing marketplace preferred.
- Experience with digital marketing platforms and comfort with learning new platforms.
- Excellent analytic and organizational skills, and fluency with Microsoft excel.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, prioritize effectively, and consistently follow through
- Interest in innovation and experimentation, and ability to evaluate strategies and pivot when necessary.
- Familiarity with and enthusiasm for the science fiction and fantasy genre
- Familiarity or experience with Amazon marketing a plus.

The compensation range for this position is $60,000-$65,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
