Job Summary:
The Marketing Manager is to assist in the development of the continual evolution of The Gillman Home Center Brand. Continued fresh asset development representing the brand in a positive light for all marketing avenues is essential to the brand and its growth.
The Role:
Expansion of the GHC brand and its evolution in the constantly changing marketing atmosphere, and placing and maintaining the brand’s position as a leader in independently owned, family-oriented, retail businesses using creative marketing tactics. The development of each location to adapt to evolving marketing strategies while maintaining its individual community essence is dependent on constant communication to and from the locations, Management teams, and Points of Contact. Maintaining the “Gillman Difference” principles is always pertinent, as this position is responsible for the brand integrity of GHC, so personal representation through social media outlets must be tactfully maintained keeping that in mind. The Marketing Director is responsible for all public representation of Gillman Home Center in accordance with company policy, brand expectations, and the direction of the company COO.

Essential Functions:
- Treat all team members, vendors, and customers with courtesy and respect.
- Point of Contact (POC) leadership
- Growing and developing location specific Points of Contact and their understanding of brand promotion utilizing their social media outlets
- Scheduling and posting approved social media content
- Updating and maintaining of Marketing Calendar to assist the POC’s and their management teams in scheduling appropriate time for their Marketing duties around their normal work schedules
- Regular communication with POC’s as needed to evolve their understanding of current Brand goals
- Ensuring location specific promotions are being approved and built to GHC standards
- Monthly Sales related posting
- Weekly post submissions for social media with engaging and informative content
- Execution of monthly POC video meetings and their agendas with the goal of educational growth of the POC’s
- Growing and developing location specific Points of Contact and their understanding of brand promotion utilizing their social media outlets
- Customer email coordination
- Create bi-weekly email content for our database of email customers
- Monthly sale flyer oversight
- Manage all content in coordination with Do It Best for creation of flyers
- Sale creation of monthly sale items in POS system for all locations
- Maintaining of customer communication and conveyance of positive and/or negative customer correspondence to Operations and the COO in the following avenues
- Google Business Pages
- Website Contact Us submissions
- Store specific Facebook Pages
- Store hours updating on all related platforms
- MyGillman.com
- Apple maps
- Regular Marketing asset building for the following:
- Regular updating of Rental Department catalogs on MyGillman.com
- Companywide social media content
- Staff communication bulletins
- Planning and execution of location specific events (Grand Openings, Ladies Nights, Contractor Expo’s, etc.)
- In store signage creation oversight (endcap headers, consumer communication, holiday hours of operation, etc.)
- Company communication of sale items and pertinent marketing information
- Regular communication with Store Management as necessary to support the growth of each location’s Management team and their understanding of our brand marketing tactics with a mindful eye to each individual location’s sales mix strengths.
- Attend store expos and events as needed.
- Assist in the evolution of Gillman Home Center to maintain the everchanging modernized marketing tactics with an eye to old fashioned, time proven, hardware presence.
- Ensure a safe working environment. Maintain situational awareness. Identify and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Active, customer friendly Social Media Status with proven audience growth capabilities.
- Leveraging social media search engine optimization and other tactics to promote GHC’s products and services.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinking and strong leadership and mentoring experience.
- Ability to work and adapt effectively under stress.
- Basic computer proficiency with fluency in Photoshop and MS PowerPoint or Google Sheets.
- Active or recent education in Marketing or related schooling.
- Fearless in suggesting/implementing new ideas and “outside the box” thinking.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing and walking throughout the day.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to drive to travel to store locations and training sites as needed using a company vehicle.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Fluent in Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Power Point.
- 5 years of experience in marketing with a focus on social media management and SEO.
- Clean driving record and background check.
