About the Job
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing CREO’s marketing strategy, content development, lead generation, and account-based marketing programs and tactics. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Marketing Manager is responsible for growing CREO’s brand recognition and market penetration within the life sciences, healthcare, and private equity market sectors. Working in close partnership with corporate and practice leaders, the Marketing Manager develops the marketing assets and go-to-market programs that supports the commercial growth of the company.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Strategy and Analysis
The Marketing Manager is accountable for developing and executing CREO’s annual marketing strategy and business plan in collaboration with the Chief Commercial Officer and other members of the executive team, as well as CREO’s marketing agencies. This work includes:
- Defining actionable customer segments by industry sector, geography, and service offering.
- Profiling target customer and buyer personas, aligning them to CREO service offerings.
- Building and curating CREO’s market database for use in commercialization activities.
- Refining and testing the company’s brand strategy, positioning, and messaging to maximize market penetration.
- Engineering marketing processes by which marketing-related functions operate.
- Conducting competitor and loss analyses to better respond to market forces.
- Evaluating, establishing, and managing partner relationships.
- Regularly measuring, monitoring, and reporting marketing-related key performance indicators while driving improvements that increase business performance.
The Marketing Manager drives the development, testing, and continuous improvements in customer-facing branding and messaging assets. The Marketing Manager will also manage and drive CREO’s related agency relationships. This work includes:
- The company’s visual brand identity and voice
- The company’s corporate website
- Practice-, solution-, and persona-based messaging
- Advertising programs in both online and traditional media channels
- Press releases
- Applications for business and industry awards and recognition
- Sales and marketing presentations, brochures, and other collateral
- Social media accounts
- Rich media assets (e.g., audio / podcasts, videos)
- Organic search and SEO
The Marketing Manager is responsible for designing and orchestrating the execution of marketing programs and tactics that drive net-new lead generation for the company. These activities include:
- Identifying and prioritizing de novo accounts that can likely benefit from the company’s services and capabilities.
- Leveraging business data sources and social media to identify and profile account-specific individuals that would be likely buyers and/or stakeholders.
- Identifying and staging opportunities for referral-based selling.
- Driving a well-designed and orchestrated process of prospect engagement that ultimately results in lead conversion.
- Designing and executing high-impact, multi-channel, industry-specific campaigns.
- Leveraging existing and/or developing new events that showcase the company’s expertise.
- Identifying, setting up, managing, and promoting channel partnerships with the outcome of generating new leads.
- Engaging industry communities and other forums.
- Helping to manage, organize and communicate CREO’s strategic industry Partner relationships.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree: Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years of previous experience successfully marketing consulting services within the life sciences (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, CRO) sectors.
- Exceptional communication skills with proven experience in developing and executing marketing messaging, campaigns, and account-based marketing programs.
- Expert-level skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, online advertising platforms (LinkedIn, Google), WordPress, and search engine optimization (SEO).
- Experience working with life sciences publishers, media, and conference producers.
- Experience working with external marketing agencies and partners.
- Proven ability to think analytically and strategically to assess problems and opportunities.
- Persuasive and powerful communicator, able to clearly convey complex ideas, build alignment, and manage difficult conversations.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment in professional services/consulting with proven results.
- Must be motivated and self-disciplined; must possess strong time management skills.
- Preference will be given to candidates in the RTP, NC area.
- Occasional travel may be required to support industry events.
