About the Job
Crocker Park is currently seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) on-site, Marketing & Events Assistant to join our dynamic, creative Marketing Department! A successful addition to our team at Stark Enterprises, this employee will have the opportunity to work as well as collaborate on planning and executing an array of events, attractions, and support operations at Crocker Park. This position will report directly to the Events and Marketing Manager and alongside the VP of Marketing and Senior VP of Operations. This role will teach the important integration details of Crocker Park’s entire Marketing and Operations departments as a professional entry-level position while working alongside highly talented designers, marketers, and operators. This position will gain exposure to multiple departments, a variety of events, activities and marketing activations and develop the skills that will be the foundation of a career in marketing and operations. The ideal candidate is looking to gain experience in seasonal employee management, event sales, planning and marketing as well as ensuring sponsorships are activated properly and in a timely manner. This role is located at Crocker Park and the majority of the work will be done on site.
Responsibilities:
Marketing
- Manage seasonal hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising of train and guest services associates during the summer, fall and holidays.
- This includes ensuring that sponsorships are being executed correctly including but not limited to ensuring that the sponsors commercial is being played, the brochure holders are being filled and team members are well versed in promoting the attraction and sponsorship.
- Aid in the execution and upkeep of property signage including creating work orders for large signage, changing out small signage when necessary, completing property signage audits with Corporate Sales Manager, ensuring the digital board and digital kiosks are updated and working properly, anticipating and following up with team when new signage is needed.
- Take photos of advertisements on property for sales manager as proof of completion and for sponsorship recaps
- Support tenants through magazine delivery, connecting and networking with store managers and assistant managers to be a liaison between the tenants and Crocker Park Management
- Help maintain the tenant contact list, ensure that it stays up to date including quarterly collection of contact information to ensure we have the best contacts
- Managing and maintaining the Green Wall ensuring the sponsorship branding is intact and the wall is always presentable and updated.
Events
- Help collect and manage documents (license agreements for vendors, performance agreements for entertainment etc.) for marketing and event activations on property including ensuring legal documents have been properly signed and countersigned and entered into the correct lists.
- Aid in booking and managing summer entertainment including Music in the Park and other summer, fall and holidays activities
- Help in collection and tracking of funds for Crocker Park activations.
- Be on-site to help execute property-wide events and activations including, but not limited to: Ice Festival, Summer Block Party, Crocker Kids, Food Truck Challenge, Tricks & Treats & Tree lighting, Music in the Park & Movies in the Park
- Third-party events
- Be the liaison between third party events and Crocker Park Management, ensure agreements are being executed, payments are being collected and be on site for events (events could be 5K’s, fundraiser events, vendor shows etc.)
Operations
- Payment Orders (PO’s)
- Place Payment Orders for marketing regularly, for operations as needed
- Workorders
- Learn Visitt+ Workorder system, be able to manage submitting work orders for marketing and operations, following up on workorders when necessary and becoming knowledgeable enough to train others on how to use the program
- Storefront Audits
- Assist operations in completing and documenting store front audits
- Act as a back-up for the office manager when she is out
Hours vary weekly based on event schedule. Some evening and weekend work required.
Qualifications:
- No degree necessary. Desire to learn and grow as an event and marketing professional
- Full-time work schedule, primarily during the day, some evenings and weekends as well.
- Positive, upbeat, punctual, reliable, eager, and approachable attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and be detailed oriented
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and always looking for solutions
- Ability to look ahead and plan for the future
- Eagerness to learn, grow and excel in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to take on more as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Photography and Videography skills
- Prior experience with professional social media management a plus
- Graphic Design skills and experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign a plus
