We are seeking a dynamic and transformational leader with a proven track record who can seamlessly navigate the intersection of business acumen and agricultural innovation for the Director, Seed Marketing position. This influential position holds the distinction of leading the largest seed distribution business in the United States. As market leaders we aspire to transform our seed business to stay ahead of ever-changing market conditions. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of shaping marketing strategy across both proprietary and partnered seed brands, driving innovation, and fostering success in the ever-evolving agricultural landscape.
- Articulate and deliver on a transformational vision that inspires growth and innovation for the largest seed distributor in the United States
- Collaborate with our Ag Retail network to create the best seed buying experience, establishing new standards of excellence for our industry
- Infuse deep industry knowledge into marketing strategies aligning them with business strategy and goals
- Accountable for seed P&L management, including development and assessment of volume, financial projecting, pricing, forecasting models and competitive analysis
- Develop 5-year seed strategy with clear short-term operational focus
- Lead seed annual business planning for end-to-end business for all crops & brands
- Establish and maintain seed alignment with strategic accounts in collaboration with internal partners
- Manage and maintain strategic seed supplier & industry relationships to strengthen our partner position and drive collaborative initiatives
- Negotiate long-term agreements and partnership alignments with strategic suppliers and retailors
- Collaborate with leaders cross-functionally to align marketing with overall business objectives
- Inspire and empower a high-performing seed marketing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture to deliver results
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in successfully building and executing growth strategies for scaled businesses across both B2B and B2C, including managing a large budget
- Strong leadership presence, influential with a diverse group of stakeholders and can create buy-in with both commercial and technical teams
- Deep seed industry knowledge of market trends and dynamics
- Excellent business acumen skills including negotiation and financial management skills
- End to end business understanding, including R&D, commercial, agronomy products, and services
- Talent minded leader skilled at empowering talent to collaborate and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Effective at relationship management with internal and external partners
- Ability to foster open dialogues across functional, organizational and geographic boundaries
Experience required
- Minimum of 10 years of sales, marketing or supply planning experience with 5+ years of successful leadership experience
- Bachelor's Degree required. Degrees in Business, Marketing, Finance or Agriculture.
- Proven track record of successful P&L management for a business line
Preferred Experience and Education:
- MBA or advanced degree
- Marketing leadership experience in the agriculture industry
