Our client, a design-forward furniture company, is looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist with strong Copywriting skills. This is a full-time direct hire role, onsite 5 days a week.
The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, clear, quick to understand a given product or product line, and also skilled at writing descriptions to highlight the product—and our company—and put both in the best light possible. You will work with a team to:
- Apply your creativity and clear-minded communication skills to write original copy in brand voice
- Build, maintain and organize an up-to-date, segmented, marketing database of our customers, influencers, and followers
- Conceptualize & Design graphics for use within our constellation of marketing touchpoints (e.g., brochures, website, newsletters, social media posts and various other digital/printed marketing tools), while also keeping in-line with our overarching visual style & image
- Interpret project briefs into copywriting concepts and/or graphics storyboards to achieve project requirements
- Collaborate within a close-knit team on large- and small-scale marketing projects (e.g. email campaigns and landing pages)
- Use SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach and effectiveness
- Stay current on trends and competitors within the industry
- Play a key role in seeing projects through the whole creative lifecycle—from inception to deployment to results measurement
- Drive brand consistency across all company communications and visuals
- Support messaging around product launches and sales updates
- Support sales teams with training materials, videos, custom product demos, and the like
Qualifications:
- A zest for “Storytelling”—sharing our brand and product stories in compelling, and inspiring, ways!
- Ability to work independently & proactively
- Ability to work, collaborate, & thrive within a mutually-supportive team environment
- Ability to grasp complex product knowledge/descriptions and simplify it into clean and concise content
- Strong organizational & time-management skills
- Strong research skills
- Solid Communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel in support of trade shows and special events, approximately 5 or 6 times a year
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, journalism, Graphics Design, English, communications, or related discipline
- 5 years or more of experience in:
Email Campaigns (Mailchimp experience preferred, but not required)
Content Marketing: Copywriting and Editing
- Exceptional writing, grammatical, and proofreading skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Copywriting Portfolio Required
Nice to haves:
- experience creating layouts for assets such as emails, brochures, etc.
- experience working in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
- light coding experience or WordPress experience
