** This position offers a hybrid schedule (in-office & remote/work from home) or an onsite schedule and flexible hours. Candidates will need to reside near Charleston, SC to ensure work site flexibility.**
Position Description:
The Marketing and Communications Manager will develop and execute effective communication strategies in the Medical Threats and Countermeasures division, with an initial focus on our BARDA Portfolio. This portfolio currently includes the Rapid Response Partnership Vehicle (RRPV) and the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Preparedness Consortium (BioMaP-C). This role will manage our social media presence, create content that resonates with industry professionals, policymakers, and the public, and support our broader communications plan and public relations efforts.
Reporting to the Portfolio or Program Manager, this position requires an experienced, dedicated, self-motivated individual who will develop, manage, and execute the brand marketing plan and associated activities. This role will require strong project management skills, an understanding of marketing and communications best practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams This includes developing integrated marketing plans, leading brand positioning and communications, supporting new projects and launch activities, and promotional planning and execution. The plans and campaigns created by this individual will be designed to expand awareness of the RRPV and BioMaP-C and their activities to key target audiences. The ideal candidate is someone with a passion for healthcare, excellent interpersonal skills, strong business acumen, a knack for storytelling, and a deep understanding of digital communication trends.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement comprehensive integrated marketing and communication plans aligned with consortia goals in healthcare and biopharmaceutical sectors.
- Create, curate, and manage content (e.g., text, images, graphics, videos) for all digital communication platforms.
- Ensure content is aligned to overall ATI and program brand marketing strategies to promote the program activities and objectives to inspire audiences to act. Target audiences will be diverse and span the for-profit, nonprofit, academic, and public sectors.
- Develop and manage, with routine updates, a variety of assets, including promotional materials, websites, presentations, social media, etc.
- Work with internal team to create educational webinars and/or videos.
- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet business needs and fulfill marketing plans.
- Close partnership and coordination with event planning, cultivating messaging surrounding trade shows and key industry events, and other activities will be important. May also serve as event lead for certain internally hosted events, as needed.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams. Strong collaboration, communication, and project management abilities are essential for this role.
- Collaborate with ATI’s Director of Communications and Marketing and staff as needed and directed.
- Can prioritize and adapt to the changing needs.
- Ability to operate independently with assigned tasks while maintaining integration within operational team, navigating ambiguity and with evolving priorities.
- Understands healthcare and biopharmaceutical marketplace across the U.S.; well-informed of audiences, and market trends.
- Proactively manages integrated communications calendars that execute against a plan, as well as incorporating unexpected opportunities as they arise.
- Analyze and optimize marketing campaigns, including tracking and interpreting metrics for communications and events. Works with broader team to develop and deliver performance reports, insights and recommendations for actions and future considerations.
- Ensure that all creative work adheres to ATI's brand guidelines and style standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in film and video production, communications, media studies, graphic design, marketing, public relations or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in marketing and communications
- Knowledge of SEO, digital marketing strategies, and strategic communication; ability to translate complex healthcare topics into engaging content is preferred
- Experience in creating strategic communication plans integrated with industry and program events
- Prior experience in the healthcare or biopharmaceutical space preferred
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with senior staff
- Proven team player
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communicator with an ability to convey ideas in a clear and effective manner to audiences that vary by sector, geography, organizational size, and other parameters
- Experience with leading social media accounts and serving as primary writer for digital platforms to include websites, newsletters, blogs, and associated relevant mediums
- Experience creating custom graphics, logos, and digital representations using software applications such as WordPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, or similar product(s)
- Understanding of accessibility standards (508 compliance)
- Experience using communications data to inform marketing and outreach approaches
- Experience planning, promoting, and executing live events
- Experience in copyediting
- Proficient with digital tools including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, SharePoint); Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools a bonus
