Position Summary:
The Marketing & Communications Assistant will provide essential support to the marketing department by assisting the Marketing & Communications Manager in our day-to-day marketing and communications initiatives. This role will be responsible for helping to create content across digital platforms, manage social media accounts, assist with event coordination, and support internal communications efforts. The Marketing & Communications Assistant will also collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless communication and delivery of marketing materials. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly adapt to new projects as needed.
Essential Expectations and Responsibilities:
- Help with day-to-day social media activities, including creating, scheduling, and publishing content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Monitor social media engagement and trends to provide insights for improving Bene-Care's online presence.
- Stay informed on current marketing best practices and collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager to develop ideas for compelling email campaigns, social media posts, events, and other marketing initiatives.
- Conduct basic market research regularly to support the team with insights on industry patterns and competitor activity.
- Compile content ideas and resources from internal subject matter experts to inspire content for Bene-Care's marketing channels.
- Assist in creation of digital and print marketing materials (eg. flyers, presentations, social media graphics, video, etc.) to align with Bene-Care's brand guidelines.
- Assist in writing and editing marketing materials, ensuring consistent messaging and tone.
- Support internal staff with corporate event planning and fundraising initiatives.
- Assist the Marketing & Communications Manager with community-facing event planning including guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, catering, entertainment, decoration, equipment, and Bene-Care marketing materials.
- Be a representative of the brand by attending occasional offsite events as needed.
- Assist in the execution of marketing and communications initiatives by providing administrative support as needed.
- Assist with internal marketing requests as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a marketing or communications role.
- Basic knowledge of marketing strategies and digital trends.
- Basic understanding of social media best practices and analytics.
- Experience with Salesforce, WordPress, and Meta Business Suite is a plus.
- Experience managing and creating content for social media platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Some experience with Canva is required.
- Basic video editing is a plus.
