Marketing Brand Art Director
Position Summary
Horizon's Brand Art Director is responsible for concepting and creating high-impact omni-channel marketing and advertising materials for 19+ distinct home services brands. This person can concept. Not just design concepts (which must be beautiful). We're talking big, memorable ideas that will stand out in a sea of status quo home services marketing. The AD possesses a clear understanding of visual design, layout, typography, and has a sharp eye for what will appeal to consumers by leveraging strategic insights and the latest design trends. The perfect candidate is as passionate about kerning and layout as photography and on-screen graphics. The AD and CW are BFFs - creating memorable, breakthrough advertising together. This person is a team player and has the leadership skills to manage multiple projects with various versioning requirements to meet timelines in a fast-paced environment.
This is a 1) hybrid position for candidates who live within a 90-minute commute radius from our HQ in Newark, DE or 2) a remote position for candidates who can commit to HQ's Eastern time zone 8:30a - 5:30p minimum business hours.
Qualifications
- Strong digital portfolio of work that features not only stellar design and art direction, but big, conceptual thinking. Candidates without a portfolio will not be considered
- 5+ years of relevant experience as an agency or in-house advertising and/or marketing art director
- Bachelor's degree in advertising, communications or related field. Certificate from an advertising/creative portfolio school is a bonus but not mandatory
- A demonstrated understanding of design strategy and customer experiences.
- Innately curious: stays current on trends, culture, and current events, and brings inspiring external insight into the work
- The ability to think conceptually and creatively on the fly
- Expertise in full funnel omnichannel design and branding; Strong campaign experience is preferred
- Photo / video on-set art direction experience (pre-, during- and post-production)
- Strong time management skills and proven ability to work with speed and precision
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively articulate and present design concepts and ideas
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite. Canva, Figma, After Effects, Premier, XD, etc., are a bonus
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Sharepoint (or similar collaboration tools such as Google Suite)
- An understanding of print production, methods and finishes
- Proactive thinker, opportunity maker and problem solver
- Collaborative team player who inspires others with optimism and creativity
Responsibilities
- Concept, design and art direct all facets of marketing communication including digital, social, television/CTV, radio, print, OOH, etc. for 19+ distinct home services brands
- Handle design, type, photography, layout, color, shape, and the overall visual aesthetics of marketing and advertising materials under the guidance of the CD and VP CD
- Develop an understanding of key audiences and local nuances of 19+ brands to recommend strategic and creative solutions to the broader marketing team
- Oversee Tier 2 and Tier 3 video and/or photoshoots from pre-production to shoot day through post-production
- Ensure that creative deliverables support the project briefs and are completed on schedule; has maturity to raise a hand (and raise it early) if more time is needed
- Effectively apply feedback from CD, VP CD and CMO
- Support VP CD in any internal and ELT creative needs
- On occasion, work with print vendors to determine specifications, paper type, etc. for printed materials
