We're hiring! Beacon Hill has partnered with a growing Consulting firm in Chicago in hiring a contract Market Insights Specialist to start immediately! The Market Insight Specialist is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting market and industry data to provide actionable insights that drive business strategy, marketing efforts, and decision-making. This role combines market research expertise, data analysis, and strategic thinking to identify trends, assess competition, and uncover opportunities that align with the company's goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct primary and secondary market research to understand customer preferences, industry trends, and competitive dynamics.
- Analyze data to identify emerging market opportunities and potential risks.
- Monitor and report on macroeconomic factors and their potential impact on the business.
- Competitor Analysis
- Collect and evaluate competitor data, including product offerings, pricing, marketing strategies, and customer reviews.
- Maintain a competitive intelligence database and create detailed profiles of key competitors.
- Consumer Insights
- Develop and distribute customer surveys, focus groups, and interviews to gather insights into customer behavior and needs.
- Leverage customer data to create personas and segmentations that inform marketing and product strategies.
- Reporting & Communication
- Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing key findings and actionable recommendations.
- Communicate insights effectively to stakeholders across departments, including senior leadership.
- Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to integrate insights into campaigns and product roadmaps.
- Support business development efforts by identifying market gaps and opportunities for expansion.
- Tools & Technology
- Utilize data analysis tools, CRM systems, and market research platforms to collect and analyze information.
- Stay updated on new tools and methodologies to enhance the efficiency of research efforts.
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Master's degree (preferred) in Market Research, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Experience
- 2+ years experience in market research, data analysis, or a related role.
- Familiarity with industries relevant to the company's focus.
- Skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency in tools like Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics, or similar platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
