Overview:TRC is seeking a Market Director to grow our Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) capabilities and expertise within our Engineering, Construction & Remediation (ECR) Practice team in leadership role managing projects, providing technical direction to project teams, and serving as a technical subject matter expert in CCR. This role requires a strong background in business development, technical expertise, and financial acumen. The successful candidate will have a solid reputation for building and maintaining key client relationships.
The successful candidate will be highly knowledgeable in both existing and proposed federal and state regulations for CCR impoundments and landfills.
Responsibilities:- Demonstrated track record in client development in an environmental consulting/ engineering and/or environmental construction management services business model.
- Candidates should have a network of client contacts in the utility market and possess strong business development and project management skills.
- Provide technical leadership in the areas of CCR ash basin closure, landfill design, solid waste management, groundwater and related regulatory, planning, design and construction phase projects
- Provide technical direction and lead client-facing teams to support the continued growth of our engineering and environmental services within the power and industrial markets, with a strong emphasis on CCR and solid waste management
- Develop, present, and execute winning client strategies for new and follow-on contract bids Provide input to the overall development of technical, management and business plans
- Serve as Client Manager for new and existing customers, including relationship development/maintenance, project scoping, strategic guidance of proposal preparation, and Principal level of participation on projects. May serve as Project Manager in certain circumstances.
- Work with other TRC project managers and sales professionals on developing efficient business development strategies for new and existing customers.
- Possess strong verbal, written, presentation and excellent client management skills; demonstrated ability leading and managing complex proposals and projects; as well as being goal oriented, quality focused, and have demonstrated success with creating and fostering a team environment.
- Active in utility trade associations (e.g. USWAG, ACAA).
- Professional or technical degree in engineering, geology, environmental science or related field. Advanced degree and state certification or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of CCR Rule, Legacy Rule, monitoring networks, and familiarity with the use of hydrogeologic data to support groundwater model development and calibration
- Prefer 20+ years in managing environmental site assessment, remediation, environmental compliance, or other service areas.
- Minimum of 5 years business development experience selling CCR services.
- Existing client base and 5+ years direct responsibility for managing and growing existing accounts and prospecting for new customers.
- Proven track record with successful marketing, business development, business management and oversight of regional businesses.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
