We are seeking an experienced Permanent Maritime Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This role is ideal for a seasoned legal professional with a strong background in insurance coverage and maritime law. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a wide range of maritime-related legal matters, including but not limited to, marine insurance, maritime liens, shipping, and commercial fishing regulations. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Maritime Associate Attorney, you will be expected to:
1. Provide legal advice and representation to clients in maritime-related matters, including marine insurance, maritime liens, shipping, and commercial fishing regulations.
2. Draft and review a variety of legal documents related to maritime law, such as contracts, agreements, and insurance policies.
3. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute in maritime legal proceedings.
4. Conduct legal research and analysis to advise clients on their rights, obligations, and legal options in maritime matters.
5. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in disputes related to maritime law.
6. Stay updated on the latest developments in maritime law and insurance coverage to provide the most accurate and effective legal advice to clients.
7. Collaborate with other attorneys in the firm to ensure the best representation for clients.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Maritime Associate Attorney role, you will need:
1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a maritime attorney, with a strong focus on insurance coverage.
4. Extensive knowledge of maritime laws and regulations, as well as insurance laws and policies.
5. Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
8. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. High ethical standards and professionalism.
10. The ability to manage a large workload and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
