We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Consulting Marine Power Field Service Engineer to join our leading-edge technology company. This role offers the chance to work on challenging and rewarding projects within the marine power sector, providing technical expertise and problem-solving skills to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of marine power systems and equipment. This includes switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, MV switchboards, and conducting protection relay injection tests. The role demands a high level of technical proficiency, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is a 2+ month long engagement.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support for marine power systems, including the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and MV switchboards.
2. Conduct protection relay injection tests, identify faults, and implement corrective actions.
3. Prepare and present technical reports detailing field operations and system performance.
4. Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients on marine power system design, operation, and maintenance.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
7. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all field operations.
9. Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in field operations, specifically in the marine power sector.
3. Proven experience with switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, MV switchboards, and protection relay injection tests.
4. Excellent technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex marine power systems.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
6. Proficient in the use of computer software and tools for data analysis and report preparation.
7. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Willingness to travel for field assignments and to provide on-call support as required.
10. Certifications in marine power systems or related areas will be an added advantage.
