Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Marine Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. The EHS Manager facilitates the implementation and maintenance of Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS) programs within the Yamaha Marine Business Unit (YMBU) reporting to the Sr. Manager of EHS. The position will help initiate, execute, and deliver company specific strategy that supports Corporate EHS Management Systems, and EHS goals and objectives. The EHS Manager provides subject matter expertise and support for YMBU subsidiaries and ensure production facilities are complying with all statutory requirements including but not limited to ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other best management practices.

What you'll be doing:
- Build relationships with site leaders and help lead with expert consultation, collaboration, and guidance on EHS. Support creation of appropriate activity-based goals for the site leaders, managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture of safety excellence. Drive and promote zero-incident EHS culture throughout the company. Support EHS operations to achieve or exceed annual targets for leading indicators, injury rate reductions and other elements of EHS continuous improvement and quality.
- Responsible for building new EHS initiatives across YMBU that drive measurable value for the business. Provide support with planning, implementing, and executing programs and projects relating to EHS strategy and goals. Look towards innovation and industry leading best practices to drive continual improvement to reduce incidents and non-conformances.
- Develop and implement training programs to transfer EHS knowledge and core competencies to ensure all regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and best practices are met.
- Timely communication of all findings, concerns and deficiencies to the responsible management team and ensures that issues, concerns, and deficiencies are corrected - per pre-defined and agreed processes. Develops and implements strategic solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance and zero defects as directed.
- Facilitate incident investigation process, problem solving, cause analysis, evaluate hazards/risks to develop and implement effective corrective action plans.
- Manage company resource relationship with OSHA, EPA, DOT, or other State and Federal regulatory agencies and address any issues that may arise.
- Assist facilities management team in ensuring required regulatory permits are acquired, required reports are submitted to regulatory agencies and any site permit conditions (e.g., recordkeeping, stormwater, special waste, etc.) are met.
- Monitor, interpret and communicate regulatory changes to the YMBU.
- Performs other duties as required.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university in occupational safety, public health, industrial hygiene, environmental science, engineering, or related field.
- Must have strong technical and regulatory knowledge in occupational health and safety and understanding of current Environmental / Sustainability Topics (i.e. Environmental Regulations, Green Energy Technologies, Greenhouse Gases, Waste and Recycling, Energy / Water Conservation, etc.).
- 10-15 years of EHS management experience in a medium to large manufacturing environment
- Certifications in the field of EHS such as the CSP, CIH, CHMM or other certifications in the field of EHS are highly desirable.
- Experience in implementing and auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 desirable.
- Experience or knowledge of LEAN manufacturing or Toyota Production System desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Technical expertise in EHS regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving. incident investigation and corrective action management.
- Proficient use of MS Office Applications (Forms, SharePoint, Power BI).
- Effective communication, supervisory and people skills are essential.
- Strong project management and analytical skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
- Able to work independently, exercise sound judgement, develop and deliver presentations.
