Position Summary:
The Production Line Supervisor oversees daily operations of the rotary sublimation press and sewing department, ensuring production goals are met efficiently, safely, and with high-quality standards. The role involves managing teams ranging from 20 to 120 people, troubleshooting production issues, and coordinating schedules while driving continuous improvement. Operates within a highly seasonal holiday business environment, requiring exceptional adaptability and efficiency during peak periods.
1st Shift - 6:30am-3:00pm (Peak Schedule Varies
Pay Range - $22-$28
Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage day-to-day activities in the rotary sublimation press and sewing department.
* Assign tasks, schedule shifts, and ensure adequate staffing to meet production deadlines.
* Train, coach, and evaluate staff performance, addressing performance issues as needed.
* Monitor workflow and ensure compliance with production schedules.
* Address equipment downtime, quality concerns, or bottlenecks proactively.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and material availability.
* Ensure finished products meet company quality standards.
* Conduct spot-checks and audits on production output and processes.
* Implement corrective actions to address recurring quality issues.
* Enforce safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free workplace.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and industry standards.
* Identify opportunities to streamline production processes and improve efficiency.
* Recommend upgrades or process changes to improve equipment utilization and reduce waste.
* Other duties as assigned
Skills:
* Understanding of rotary sublimation press and sewing machine operations.
* Basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance knowledge.
* Familiarity with production planning software and inventory systems.
* Ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
* Effective decision-making under pressure.
* Conflict resolution and team-building capabilities.
* Strong attention to detail to spot defects or inefficiencies.
* Proficiency in analyzing production data to identify trends and optimize processes.
* Clear communication with team members, managers, and other departments.
* Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred to support effective communication.
* Ability to provide concise and actionable feedback.
* Strong time management and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Documentation and reporting skills to track production performance.
* Additional Duties & Responsibilities and Skills may be required based on individual department needs
Education and Experience:
* Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
* Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree in operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
* Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), are a plus.
