We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Manufacturing Safety Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our environmental health & safety operations, ensuring that our workplace adheres to all legal standards and internal policies. This role is integral to our commitment to employee safety, regulatory compliance, and the overall success of our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
As EHS Manager, you will:
1. Develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
2. Lead the development and implementation of a safety training curriculum for all employees, including new hires and existing staff.
3. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
4. Investigate safety incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
5. Prepare comprehensive reports detailing safety performance, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance.
6. Collaborate with management and staff to foster a safety culture and ensure that safety considerations are integral to all manufacturing operations.
7. Stay abreast of new regulations and best practices in environmental health & safety and ensure these are incorporated into company safety policies and procedures.
8. Oversee the management of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment.
9. Coordinate emergency response plans and drills to ensure preparedness in the event of a workplace incident.
Qualifications
To be considered for the role of Safety Manager, you should have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
2. Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines.
3. Proven experience in conducting safety training and leading investigations into workplace safety incidents.
4. Strong report writing skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address safety risks and issues proactively.
7. A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field is preferred.
8. Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent is highly desirable.
