About The Opportunity
The Project Manager will play a key role in executing Menasha Packaging's manufacturing network modernization program by organizing, managing, and executing successful delivery of large-scale capital projects. Using contemporary tools and processes, the Project Manager will oversee all aspects of assigned projects from capital approval through completion. They will ensure the project team, cross-functional stakeholders, and external partners remain cohesive in working toward project objectives, effectively monitor project tasks and milestones, and socialize progress and risks to key stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The Project Manager will work on-site during new asset start-ups and foster a culture of continuous improvement and ongoing operational excellence.
Job Functions
- Manage multiple manufacturing projects simultaneously utilizing contemporary project management tools and practices from approval through hyper care.
- Coordinate and influence cross-functional partners from engineering, operations, finance, HR/EHS, procurement, quality, commercial, IT, and risk management.
- Develop and facilitate project plans, progress trackers, status reporting and cadences.
- Manage deliverables as defined in the project's scope and monitor project progress and adjust as needed to meet deadlines and project goals.
- Lead project meetings including scheduling and developing meeting agendas and managing meeting notes and follow-up items.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Ensure prompt and accurate communication regarding project status and deliverables is provided to project stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance project team environment that promotes a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and implement improvements for future projects.
- Use tools to digitize and organize work (eg. Microsoft suite of tools).
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications.
- Overnight travel up to 50% of the time may be required with frequency dependent on project activities and deliverables, valid driver's license needed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, operations, supply chain, communication, or related field.
- At least four years' prior project management experience required, preferably in a mid to large enterprise matrixed manufacturing organization
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of project management and process improvement principles, practices, and tools
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology
- Knowledge of and ability to identify a problem and use a disciplined approach to successfully resolve
- Ability to form and maintain cross-functional relationships and lead by influence
- Ability to maintain a high attention to detail while working with a sense of urgency
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Ability to gather, interpret and simplify large amounts of data and translate to action
- Strong written, verbal, and persuasive communication and facilitation skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software products, including Teams, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Word
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Primarily works in a manufacturing plant setting with a blend of on-site and flexible remote office work
- Overnight travel up to 50% of the time may be required with frequency dependent on project activities and deliverables
