We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Planner Buyer to join our team. This role is an integral part of our manufacturing operations, responsible for the planning and procurement of materials, components, and out-plant services necessary to support our production schedules. The successful candidate will have a keen understanding of supply-chain management, lean manufacturing, and just-in-time principles. They will also be well-versed in aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP. This role requires a self-starter who can manage confidential information and ensure on-time completion to meet customer delivery dates.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Planner Buyer to join our team. This role is an integral part of our manufacturing operations, responsible for the planning and procurement of materials, components, and out-plant services necessary to support our production schedules. The successful candidate will have a keen understanding of supply-chain management, lean manufacturing, and just-in-time principles. They will also be well-versed in aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP. This role requires a self-starter who can manage confidential information and ensure on-time completion to meet customer delivery dates.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on inventory demand and production capacity.
- Manage the procurement process for raw materials, components, and out-plant services.
- Conduct performance supplier evaluations and perform negotiations with suppliers to ensure the best quality and cost.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production planning data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all Purchase Orders are accurately processed and tracked.
- Manage and control inventory levels to ensure optimal production flow.
- Conduct regular demand planning and forecasting to anticipate future material needs.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
- Implement and maintain lean manufacturing and just-in-time principles within the supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry, preferably within aerospace manufacturing.
- Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) from APICS is preferred.
- Certification from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM/CPSM) is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP.
- Proven experience in managing confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct performance supplier evaluations and supplier negotiations.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and just-in-time principles.
- Proficient in Production Planning, Purchase Orders, Materials Sourcing, Inventory Management, Demand Planning, and Purchasing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage production schedules, production capacity, and raw materials.
- Proven track record of ensuring on-time completion and meeting customer delivery dates.
