2nd Shift: 3pm to 11:30pm
The rate is depending on the experiences, and often isand with the potential of converting to a permanent position, depending on theprogress. Your Role: Manufacture or evaluate products according to establishedprotocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations insupport of the group and department. Essential Job Functions
Basic operation of vessels, tanks, dryers, glassware andother required equipment, tools and materials
Charges solids, liquids and gases to vessels, tanks,dryers, glassware and other required equipment
Monitors chemical reactions using laboratory equipmentand distributed control system
Performs distillations, filtrations, extractions andrecrystallizations to isolate and purify product
Neutralizes and disposes of unused materials, by-productsand residues
Contributes to department goals
Closely follows written procedures; MPRs, SOPs andother work instructions
Follows Company quality guidelines (ISO, MRB, cGMP,Change Control) and participates in quality awareness and training sessions
Participates in 5S initiatives
Maintains inventory of consumable supplies and ofprocessing equipment
Labels reactions, products and waste with content andstatus-related information
Maintains personal training record
Communicates production needs (materials, equipment,training) to supervisor or appropriate person
Provides oral and/or written updates to supervisor andcoworkers regarding process status (shift change)
Wears and maintains personal protective equipment as appropriateand follows all Safety protocol as trained.
Enters information into lab notebook, batch records,logs, checklists and any additional quality-related records following GDPprotocol
Stages and de-stages materials and equipment using palletmules, manual equipment, and PIT
Verifies quality and integrity of material and equipmentused
Identifies unsafe conditions and corrects them. CompletesSafety Observation/Near Miss report with suggestions to improve/preventcondition
Participates in incident investigations and safetymeetings
Achieves defined personal development goals
Performs in-process analytical testing, includingwork-ups and simple interpretations as described in the MPR
Identifies malfunctions in equipment operation, and withappropriate approval takes corrective action
Basic job-related SAP applications Who You Are: BasicQualifications
Education: o HS Diploma or GED required o Desirable: ASChemistry or Science related associate degree (chemical technician) or 2 yrscollege chemistry o Experience: Experience working in a chemistry-relatedenvironment. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and Skills: o Effective oraland written communication skills. o Mechanical aptitude. o Basic mathematicalskills. o Ability to read and understand written protocols. o Ability tooperate forklift or hand pallet truck. o Basic understanding of chemicalreactions and hazards. o Ability to operate hand tools, lab equipment,calculator and weighing and measuring devices. o Basic understanding of ISO andquality systems ADDITIONAL LOCAL NEEDS Environmental Conditions ManufacturingEnvironment: Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. Is required towear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemicalresistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment\'PPE\' to protect themselves from toxic or corrosive chemicals in theforms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles. The work area mayoccasionally be wet, humid abnormally hot or cold. Physical RequirementsManufacturing Environment: While performing the duties of this job, theemployee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder,stoop, kneel, twist, crouch or crawl for long periods of time. The employeemust be able to talk, hear, taste and smell. The employee must occasionallylift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and ability to push and pull heavymaterials to complete assignment. The employee may be required to lift morepoundage with assistance. Specific vision requirements of this job includeclose vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision,and the ability to adjust focus. Uses phones, computers, computer monitors andall office/manufacturing equipment. The employee is also required to type at acomputer keyboard and have the ability to read CRTs/computer monitors.
