Basic Job Functions:
Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of mechanical staff. Reviews Manufacturing schedules and makes assignments to staff individuals. Interacts with management to provide and receive feedback of operations that impact manufacturing schedule. Performs mechanical set ups and maintenance tasks on tanks, pumps, mills, and other equipment used in the manufacture of creams, ointments, lotions, and other liquid products. Perform repairs and rebuilds on the various types of equipment that are used in a liquids manufacturing plant. Basic electrical troubleshoot knowledge.  Performs preventative maintenance and participates in training programs, as required.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Ability to execute all requirements of the Mechanic-Manufacturing position.
• Set up full line configurations of multiple pieces of equipment independently
• Supervise subordinate mechanical personnel and assist in troubleshooting and training
• Generate Purchase Requisitions for materials and parts needed
• Interact with Management to assist in new project quotation generation by providing input on equipment choices, potential capital purchases or improvements and estimated output.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs and improvements
• Perform welding/fabrication tasks as needed
• Perform calibrations on mixers, load cells, etc.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements of the Job:

• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Substantial experience working with manufacturing equipment
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers
• Ability to provide clear instructions
• Ability to understand Standard Operating Procedures and communicate their requirements to others
• Ability to troubleshoot/repair/rebuild various types of equipment
• Complete knowledge of tools and basic machinery operation
• Ability to work around solvents and chemicals needed for sanitization tasks
• Ability to safely work with hot water (180 degrees F)
• Ability to perform plumbing repairs/improvements
• Welding/fabrication experience
• Ability to perform calibration and preventative maintenance tasks as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Strength sufficient to lift up to 60 lbs
• Ability to push a 55 gallon drum full of bulk product up to six feet
• Ability to stand on concrete floors for full shift period
• Ability to hear speech and/or alarms through plant noise
• Possess peripheral vision
• Eyesight with or without corrective lenses, able to discern different characters of small type
• Must be able to recognize colors and shades of color
• Physical mobility to reach overhead, at shoulder and waist level and below waist
• Must have manual dexterity to unfasten and fasten large and small parts together using hand tools
• Must not be allergic to chemicals and solvents used for sanitizations
• Ability to work Over Time or extended shifts as needed
• Must pass physical to wear a respirator
• Must be capable of working in a “Confined Space Area”.

Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or GED.  Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment with tanks, pumps, mills, etc. preferred.
