Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Mechanic with expertise in maintaining and repairing a variety of manufacturing equipment, including gears, drives, belts, conveyors, and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of industrial equipment and systems used in manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment, including gears, drives, belts, conveyors, and material handling systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify and address potential issues before they escalate, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using a variety of tools and techniques, such as visual inspection, vibration analysis, and precision measurement.
- Replace worn or defective parts and components, including bearings, seals, gears, motors, and drives, to restore equipment to operating condition.
- Align and adjust equipment components to ensure proper functioning and minimize wear and tear.
- Perform lubrication, cleaning, and calibration of equipment as needed to maintain performance and reliability.
- Work closely with production operators and maintenance teams to prioritize and schedule equipment repairs and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and disruption to production.
- Document maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition, in maintenance logs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Provide technical support and training to production operators on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Comply with all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe work practices, to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanic or technician in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in maintaining and repairing industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with a solid understanding of gears, drives, belts, conveyors, and material handling systems.
- Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and techniques, including predictive maintenance technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
