MANUFACTURING MATERIALS PLANNER-CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERT - Acme Industries

The Position:

Acme Industries is looking for a detail-oriented, reliable Value Stream Specialist that is not afraid to take initiative through customer support, order processing, purchasing and planning on efficient use of resources based on customer demand. We are seeking a candidate with 3-5 years of experience in customer service, purchasing and planning preferably in the manufacturing industry. This is a full-time permanent position.

Job duties:

• Enter customer purchase/change orders into ERP system. Initiate orders for replacements and/or correct errors (shortages, wrong items shipped, etc.)
• Manage customer issues from order generation through billing.
• Responsible for the integrity and maintenance of products and costing in our ERP system.
• Review and confirm all customer orders for accuracy and Acme's ability to meet requested dates.
• Optimizing material flow through management of inventory levels, effective utilization of production capacity, supplier capabilities and product lead time, leverages outside capacity as needed.
• Recognize constraints of meeting customer needs and plan accordingly to maximize customer service and meeting shipping goals.
• Ensure customer expectations and requirements are met; resolves conflicts concerning material internally and at vendor level.
• Responsible for material throughout the supply chain - during all steps of the process - to ensure on-time accurate delivery.
• Expedite customer orders as needed.

The Right Person/What we need from you:

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in business, operations management, or supply chain or equivalent of combination of education and experience in purchasing, planning, and/or customer service preferred.
• Previous ERP, purchasing, and/or customer service experience in a durable goods manufacturing organization preferred.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
• Must have solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
• Computer literacy in MS Office applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation without direct authority.
