JOB DESCRIPTION
**POSITION SUMMARY: **
The Maintenance Manager oversees and leads all maintenance activities of the operations manufacturing equipment, facilities, and maintenance staff. The Maintenance Manager ensures that all equipment meets operational standards. This position monitors daily breakdowns while directing internal and external resources for extended downtime events. This position develops and tracks preventative maintenance procedures and reports completion rates. The Maintenance Manager will be required to effectively communicate both internally and externally.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ensures adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations. Fosters an excellent “safety first” culture.
Oversees the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure Maintenance Technicians and Machine Technicians across all shifts at the manufacturing facility meet designated operational goals.
Develops and coordinates with the Maintenance Supervisor the preventative maintenance (PM) plan to prevent failure of operational machinery.
Monitors budget of the maintenance department and reports to appropriate teams.
Maintains upkeep of all company property to ensure proper system functionality. Including but not limited to: fire suppression system, outdoor grounds, and indoor facilities.
Identifies vendors, researching materials and equipment availability to best fit operation. Evaluates alternatives, verifying supplier performance record and certification and makes recommendations for the most effective method of procurement.
Coordinates with outside vendors for new machine installations. Develops plans for new machinery, installations, and major repairs.
Collaborates with engineering staff on projects, equipment needs, and installations. ? Coordinates with the scheduling team to determine machine availability, breakdowns, equipment installation, and downtimes.
Organizes and prioritizes work with minimal guidance. Manages priorities, projects, and special requests in a timely and effective manner.
Executes upper leadership directives to meet operational goals.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: **
Required-Associate’s degree or degree from a vocational/technical school in related field or equivalent experience.
Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.
5-7 years experience in managing plant and facility maintenance in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience serving in a supervisory position with direct responsibility for the work and performance management of a team.
**GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: **
Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
Strong organizational skills and proven ability to maintain accurate, detailed records that will be audited periodically; Ability to work on multiple projects at once with tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees and clients.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to identify and execute improvement opportunities through both process improvements and system improvements.
Ability to effectively train people inside and outside their work group.
Demonstrating strategic planning skills.
Travel may be required for training and to regularly conduct business with and meet with vendors/suppliers.
Must be a self-starter and have the desire and ability to take ownership and responsibility with little direction.

**SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: **
Intermediate level of knowledge in basic hardware and software using of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Visio, Google Workspace, Outlook/Gmail and web-site software required. Working knowledge of ERP & SAP systems.
Has the ability to learn new software systems and data management systems quickly.
Proficient keyboarding and typing skills.

**HOURS / SPECIAL CONDITIONS: **Monday-Friday 7am-4pm; present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which could include long days, occasional evening & weekends; regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position; position may require travel to meetings, conferences, workshops or other facilities
