This is an exciting opportunity to drive efficiency, implement lean practices, and support new program launches in a thriving organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement activities using Kaizen methodology to reduce waste, improve metrics (IPPM, scrap, downtime), and support lean manufacturing goals
- Identify process improvements with cost-benefit analysis and ROI evaluations
- Analyze downtime data to propose productivity enhancements and execute improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with external suppliers and the Maintenance Department to support production improvements
- Develop labor calculations and capacity planning models to optimize resource allocation and address bottlenecks
- Conduct elemental time studies and design efficient equipment and workspace layouts using AutoCAD
- Provide detailed and timely reports to senior management on program status and critical issues
- Understand plant equipment mechanics, processing, testing, and inspecting product components/assembly
- Support quality, manufacturing, and engineering methods and practices
- Develop quote models for new programs, including labor and equipment costs
- Validate and track packaging design proposals for seamless implementation in new programs
- Design innovative packaging concepts to eliminate part damage during transportation and reduce costs
- Implement action plans to meet departmental goals and foster teamwork within the organization
- Maintain a clean, safe, and collaborative work environment
- Train employees on job tasks and promote a customer-focused approach to operations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- 35 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment, preferably within the automotive industry
- Proficiency in automation, line studies, and line building
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques
- Expertise in AutoCAD and time study methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with packaging design and new program launches
Work Environment:
- Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:30 AM4:30 PM
- Overtime: Expected as necessary
- Work Attire: Casual
