Position Title: Sanitation Technician
Department: Sanitation
Reports To: Sanitation Manager
Job Scope: The Food Safety employee is to be proficient in every aspect of properly adhering to
all but not limited to routine cleaning of machine ry, sanitizing in regard s to cross
contamination and working closely with QC/QA Department. Perform regular upkeep of the Plant
offices & facility.
Work Environment: Work is performed indoors and outdoors, Works in wet, cold, hot, dusty areas
and at heights. Works near operating equipment and loud no ise , such as forklift horns,
machinery and loose particles may be present. Work performed in this job requires employee to wear
bump cap or hard hat, hearing protection, safety shoes/ boots, and safety glasses at all time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure minimal risk of cross contamination by properly utilizing color coded equipment in
the appropriate colored zones.
• Complete clean out of production lines by foaming, sanitizing, scrubbing, scraping using
various chemicals and tools
• Work in confined space (Upon successful completion of training)
• Complete the Master 's Sanitation schedule of dail y, weekly and monthly tasks
• Sort chemicals, mix and fill up Sanitizer tanks
• Complete special projects given by Supervisor / Ma nager
• Perform and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Sanitation Standard
Operating Procedures (SSOP' s).
• Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation. This may involve flexing your
schedule to accommodate plant schedule around shutdowns.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in accordance to company policy.
• Perform all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedures.
• Report all safety violations and safety hazards to the Shift Supervisor immediately
• Participate in all safety programs
• Have strong work ethic
Additional Job Functions
• May perform additional duties and functions as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain good standing working relationship with co-workers by being a team player.
Qualifications
• Must be able to work in wet, cold, hot, dusty areas and at heights.
• Must have ability to accept temporary assignment changes to assist other areas of the plant, maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
• Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of product routinely.
• Must be able to lift, bend, squat , pull, push, and scrub vertically and horizontally.
• Must be able to understand and execute mixing ration instructions.
• Must be able to read and understand chemical labels , MSDS sheets, SO P' s and SSOP' s.
• Must be able to correctly and clearly fill out master sanitation, verification of test strips
and any and all logs.
• Must work in a safe, professional manner at all times.
• Must report any accidents, property damage, or near misses to a supervisor immediately.

• Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written to communicate with other
employees and supervisors.

• Fle xibility to be available to help cover for other emplo yees when called upon short
notice and to work mandatory overtime when needed
• Must be able to take directio n, work efficiently and safely
• Must be able to accept having split days off and must be able to work 5 to 7 days a week
when needed.
• Once training courses have been completed, must be proficie nt and efficie nt with forklift,
boom lift, scissor li ft, floor scrubbers, hand tools, lockout tag out and fall protection.
• Must always wear the proper personal protective equipment for the task.
