Job Title: Robot Test Technician
Location: Onsite in San Francisco, CA
Duration: Initial 6 9 months, with a 50% chance of extension
Job Description:
We are seeking a Robot Test Technician to assist with the troubleshooting and debugging of robots during the build process. This role is critical in scaling up our robot manufacturing efforts and involves hands-on testing, running diagnostic scripts, and maintaining detailed documentation to ensure the robots function as intended.
The position is similar to roles found at leading autonomous vehicle companies such as Cruise, Zoox, or Whammo, and is an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians familiar with robotics testing.
Key Responsibilities:

Script Execution & Diagnostics:
Run diagnostic scripts on Linux-based laptops, perform basic troubleshooting, and use computer-based tools for debugging. -
Hands-On Testing:
Conduct physical tests on robots, including measuring electrical values using multimeters and verifying system performance. -
Documentation:
Maintain and update debug guides, testing procedures, and troubleshooting documentation to streamline processes. -
Post-Production Debugging:
Perform end-of-line testing to ensure all robots meet quality standards before deployment.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Linux environments, including running scripts and basic commands.
- Experience with CAN bus tools for debugging robotic systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools like multimeters for hands-on testing.

Documentation Skills:
- Experience in writing and maintaining debug guides or technical documentation.

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Industry Experience:
- Prior experience as a test technician in robotics or autonomous vehicle industries is highly desirable.
