Responsibilities:
- Responsible for establishing and prioritizing schedules and assignments for the Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Manage product launch plans/schedules, set priorities for the manufacturing process engineers, and identify and implement changes to improve product quality, delivery, and cost.
- Recommends and implements waste-eliminating lean improvements to design processes, methods, and controls.
- Drive continuous improvement of lean manufacturing efforts and projects to identify new trends and innovations in machinery/tooling/fixturing, obtain funding, and coordinate implementation across all levels of Operations.
- Quotation of new product RFQs
- Coordinate and report on cost reduction initiatives for the site.
- Perform a "Lessons Learned "review of product launches and continuously implement corrective actions to improve quotations' accuracy and launch effectiveness.
- Coordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products.
- Design, develop, and test and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended design methods.
- Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
- Take a project from concept to production efficiently and effectively.
- Approves process specification and design standards.
- Create and edit CNC programs.
- Decision Making and Judgment: Makes timely, informed decisions that consider the facts, goals, constraints, and risks.
Qualification and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 5 years minimum experience in CNC machining, programming, and fixture design, and a solid understanding and demonstration of machining methods.
- Project Management experience leading product launches and continuous improvement activities.
- Strong project management and leadership skills, ability to manage and organize multiple individual and team priorities.
- Possess technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods, including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment.
- Proficient in SOLIDWORKS and CAM Simulation Software
- APQP knowledge - PPAP, FMEA, and RCA
- Proficiency in ERP systems, such as Epicor or SAP.
- Three or more years of engineering experience in a fast-paced, continuous improvement production environment.
- Experienced in dynamic environments with schedule changes, design changes, and validation challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to interact with all levels within the company to effectively and collaboratively resolve technical issues.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, work holding design, and inspection methods.
