The National Security Sector at Leidos is looking for an Manufacturing Engineer who will provide process and production engineering support to the Propulsion Engineering Branch, DEVCOM Armaments Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.

Your Main Mission:
Responsibilities consist of assessing varying processes and methods.
The employee will analyze and evaluate phases, subjects, issues, conditions, and/or problems related to production and test & evaluation related assignments; select the appropriate course of action from many acceptable alternatives; and conduct technical analyses and field work to achieve desired products or services.
The employee will exercise versatility, judgment, and perception to identify and interpret diverse factors, situations, and conditions; understand interrelationships among different strategies, standards, and activities; explain and justify determinations, recommendations, and implemented actions; and assess implemented and planned actions for accuracy, feasibility, and/or adequacy in meeting objectives.
The employee will be requested to integrate and implement of statistical analysis, modeling, simulation tools where appropriate to thoroughly assess different production and performance challenges.
Personnel interactions may be with installation/plant officials, contractors, architects, technicians and engineers, but are usually with engineers within the branch or in the company of a senior engineer.
Purpose of contacts is to obtain, clarify, or exchange information or facts needed to complete an assignment or training objective.
Documenting and reporting technical information and data to senior level engineers and other officials from related organizations.
Work requires regular and recurring out of state travel to project sites, involving considerable walking, stooping, bending, lifting, and climbing. The work may require working around hot, noisy operating equipment.
Work is performed primarily in an office setting, with numerous visits to project sites up to approximately 50% of the time.
What Sets You Apart:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering field, Chemical Engineering preferred but Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Biomedical Engineer, although other disciplines considered on a case-by-case basis.
Previous experience with the following is a desirable but not necessary: Process Engineering, Industrial Facility Design/Startup, Production Engineering, Chemical Processing, Test and Evaluation. Statistical Analysis, Modeling and Simulation.
Ability to read, comprehend and provide insight on mechanical drawings and technical data package. Capable of learning to operate thermochemical code, interior ballistics code, MATLAB, and computer aided drawing tool.
Ability to work well in a team environment displaying an adequate level of interpersonal skills.
Must have US citizenship.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
