The Job:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be part of our New Britain Tools Plant team working as an onsite employee. You'll get to:
- Identify new equipment, processes, and tooling. Oversee procurement, plant layout, installations, and validations.
- Review and improve existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Ensure that equipment, processes, and tooling, operate at satisfactory levels.
- Perform process capability studies.
- Identify and implement safety and productivity improvements.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvements.
- Document work standards and instructions.
- Investigate production concerns. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Initiate capital budget requests. Plan, justify, and implement manufacturing proposals.
- Participate in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with all EH&S policies as defined by Stanley Black & Decker, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Work cohesively within our team environment, participating in various projects and events to support the Plant's needs.
- Engage with personnel from other departments and disciplines to successfully drive and complete tasks.
The Person:

- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience with sheet metal processing (Slitting, Heat Treating, Coating, Printing, Laminating) is a bonus
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office programs
- CAD proficient; SolidWorks preferred
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills but also the ability to work independently
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Project management experience desirable
