Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer serves as the technical leader, responsible for consulting with customers to design producible products and developing efficient manufacturing methods. This role focuses on leading design efforts, improving processes, and implementing methods to enhance product delivery.
Responsibilities
Leadership
- Develops and implements manufacturing methods to produce customer products.
- Leads cost-saving and process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and lead times.
- Participates in and guides cross-functional teams to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges, implementing corrective action plans.
Communication
- Trains team members on manufacturing processes for both new and existing products, assisting in onboarding new hires.
- Facilitates communication around product launches, ensuring team members are prepared to meet process and performance expectations.
- Updates leadership on the progress of product launches and process improvement projects.
Design and Development
- Collaborates with customers to design products that are safe, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
- Develops and optimizes manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly, and equipment selection.
- Designs, evaluates, and sources tools, machinery, and equipment to support manufacturing methods.
- Conducts product and process analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency gains.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
- Preferred experience in casting and extrusion.
- 0–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Design expertise using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of drawings, layouts, and GD&T principles.
- Critical thinking and effective decision-making skills.
- Ability to analyze large volumes of information and derive actionable insights.
