Manufacturing Engineer Liaison for Machining

Nidec Press & Automation is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Liaison to provide support for our Machining Department in producing stamping presses within the Nidec Minster facility located in Minster, OH. This role will be responsible for supporting the machining operations team and providing technical expertise and mentorship regarding the machining of press components. The qualified candidate will be required to focus on promoting the processes necessary for producing superior quality parts. This position will also work closely with operations leaders to improve the effectiveness of manufacturing in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Efficiency and Delivery for the machining department. The predominant shift will be 1st. Please be aware when the department needs dictate, the individual filling this role will be asked to work 2nd and 3rd shift for periods of time, as well as occasional weekends as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Be actively engaged and present during production hours to assist, coach, mentor, and aide with machining issues and questions the machine operators or operations leaders may have.
- Communicates with quality, manufacturing, engineering, and machine operators to provide technical support.
- Support current manufacturing operations by troubleshooting processes to reduce rework and scrap.
- Develop, implement, and help train employees on work instructions for machining processes and equipment set-ups as required.
- Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations.
- Audit machining processes to ensure proper procedures are being followed.
- Flexibility of work schedule to accommodate other shifts as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7-10 plus years of experience and working knowledge with Minster machining processes and equipment
- Candidate must have ability to work well with others and assist with the coaching, training, and development of employees by sharing knowledge and technical expertise
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of GD&T and blue print reading.
- Ability to organize and interpret data to resolve issues.
- Continuous improvement mindset in helping to drive cost saving initiatives.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills and confidence in solving making difficult decisions with machining process issues.
- Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
- Associate's Degree in a technology related field, i.e. Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc. is desired, but not required.
