JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer
Reports to: Manager, Technical Operations
Supervises: Not Applicable
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for daily manufacturing floor support, including Engineering Changes, defective material disposition activity, etc.
- Responsible for coordinating and transitioning new products into manufacturing.
- Determines and develops methods and operation sequence, tooling, equipment for overall fabrication, manufacture, assembly and test of parts, assemblies, etc. to final products.
- Responsible for coordinating the standardization of test equipment, tooling and procedures, to support the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process.
- Estimates manufacturing costs, labor standards, coupled with cost reduction activity in support of the product line, as required.
- Implement various manufacturing standards, as required.
- Support purchasing is the selection, evaluation and monitoring of suppliers, contract manufacturers and or service providers.
- Maintain technical proficiency as a Manufacturing Engineer, training as required.
- Ensure an efficient, safe, and secure environment is maintained.
- Responsible for the quality and accuracy of own work.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/ SCOPE
***Interfaces: ***Company Management, purchasing, manufacturing personnel, outside contract manufacturers, suppliers and customers, as required.
***People Managed: *May provide project leadership or coordination.
***Decisions: *Under minimal supervision, works alone or as part of a team making technical design/manufacturing recommendations and decisions in support of various projects. Determines and develops approaches to solutions.
Impact of Error: Impact is on technical contributions to specific projects in different areas of design and or manufacturing oriented activities. Will be simultaneously involved in multiple complex and critical projects with emphasis on timely implementations.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS
Knowledge of Electro/Mechanical technologies, equipment and their associated applications and processes.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing technology, CAD
Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Cost estimating/ cost reduction
Ability to conceptualize and solved complex problems.
IPC 610 Certified.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communications both written and verbal.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
BSEE or equivalent plus 3-5 years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineer with emphasis toward the electronic industry. Must be flexible and capable of operating with minimal supervision.
