About the Job
Our client is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineering that will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with quality standards. This position typically involves a range of tasks that support the production process, from the design and development of manufacturing processes to troubleshooting and optimizing existing workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation or other technologies that reduce waste and increase productivity.
- Analyze manufacturing processes (e.g., machine, operator, component, and setup) to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and propose solutions.
- Manage the product lifecycle, ensuring that products are manufactured according to design specifications, quality standards, and cost constraints.
- Ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles are applied early in product development to facilitate easier and cost-effective production.
- Act as a liaison between engineering and production to facilitate communication and resolve any production-related issues.
- Ensure that all design documentation, including part drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions, is maintained and updated according to the revision control processes.
- Design, develop, and maintain assembly fixtures, tools, and other equipment used in the manufacturing process.
- Implement and enforce quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring products meet both internal and external requirements.
- Train production personnel on new processes, tooling, and equipment to ensure they are capable of operating efficiently.
- Develop training materials and visual aids to help reduce the learning curve for operators.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during production, such as instrument failures, quality issues, and process inefficiencies.
- Proficiency in engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design.
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), engineering drawings, and BOM creation.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Project), with an emphasis on data analysis and process documentation.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Infor10 Syteline, SAP, or Oracle) for documentation and inventory management.
- Proficient with CAD Design programs such as SolidWorks
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex production issues, using methods such as root cause analysis, failure analysis, and statistical tools.
- Knowledge and experience in quality assurance processes, such as Six Sigma, ISO standards, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and other quality management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including production teams, R&D, suppliers, and senior management.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related fields) or equivalent work experience within an Electro Mechanical production environment.
- 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field, particularly in industries including automation, pneumatics, instrumentation, electronics, or aerospace.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes is highly desirable.
