Job Details
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, specifically in the manufacturing industry. The role will require a hands-on approach and will involve working closely with our production team to create plans for the manufacturing of custom metal products. This position is responsible for the creation of technical drawings, CNC programs, and the development and documentation of manufacturing processes to efficiently produce finished goods. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
The creation of part drawings, tooling drawings, fixture drawings, CNC programs and corresponding shop travelers.
Reviewing customers’ designs for ease of fabrication.
The implementation of engineering plans to maximize manufacturability and to minimize cost.
Tool design and procurement.
Interact with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure efficient production.
Participate in MRB and Job Cost meetings.
Analyze current production methods, track job process, ensure conformance, and implement improvements.
Qualities/Skills:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering or lead machinist role
Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, laser cutting, forming, punching, and welding preferred.
Proficient in Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers, suppliers, and co-workers.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis..
Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities to meet time sensitive deadlines.
Knowledge of ISO/AS9100 standards and how they relate to process development.
