This will be in support of COLUMBIA and VPM first time construction. This is truly the best opportunity to apply engineering skills in support of a state-of-the-art nuclear submarine construction facility.
This position is ideal for the highly motivated individual who enjoys getting their hands dirty; working directly with production tradespeople and management, developing designs from inception to use on a variety of interesting applications. - Lifting and handling fixture designs and process support
- Lifting & handling arrangements learning state-of-the-art crane capabilities and heavy load transporter operations
- Lifting and handling drawings and build strategies
- Lifting and handling Risk mitigation plans
- Initiating and implementing Process Improvements as well as supporting in implementing ideas
Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be highly motivated, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a drive to be successful, and excellent attention to detail while being comfortable working in a dynamic construction environment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Civil (Structural) Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree
- Knowledge of lifting/handling methods and/or structural fabrication techniques
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
- Experience and knowledge in submarine design and/or construction
- A demonstrated ability in multi-tasking and technical project management is desirable
- NX, Teamcenter, SOLIDWORKS, and/or AUTOCAD experience in 3D model manipulation, structural analysis, and 2D drawing development
