Manufacturing Engineer III
System One has an immediate need for a Manufacturing Engineer III for our client in Chattanooga, TN. This is a direct hire opportunity with comprehensive benefits and relocation (if applicable).

Job Description:
• Manage technical aspects of complex manufacturing projects from receipt of customer PO to shipment.
• Determine material, fabrication, inspection, and testing requirements from customer PO, customer specifications, and/or standard specifications (e.g. NQA-1, ASTM, ASME, API, ISO, etc.).
• Occasional design of weldments/assemblies based on customer design requirements (typically ASME BPVC Sec VIII if pressure vessels).
• Interface with engineering personnel at partnering design subcontractors regarding design, manufacturing, testing, and quality program oversight.
• Create Nuclear Commercial Grade Dedication Plans and Technical Evaluations.
• Interface with production planning to discuss optimum machining/manufacturing approach.
• Create bills of material, manufacturing instructions (routers), weld maps, inspection reports, test reports, etc. for production and inspection activities.
• Create test plans (pressure, load, electrical, etc.), perform testing, write test reports.
• Provide purchasing requirements to purchasing agent based on drawing and specification requirements.
• Select and manage outside vendors related to projects.
• Frequent communication/guidance to production personnel regarding welding/assembly of projects.
• Frequent technical communication with outside vendors.
• Frequent technical communication with customer engineering groups.
• CAD modeling and manufacturing drawing creation, as needed to support projects.
• Fixture design, as needed to support projects.
• Temporary assignment to other activities/duties as needed to support the business.
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing or design experience.
Preferred Skills:
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Strong work ethic.
• Experience planning manufacturing activities.
• Experience reading material/technical specifications.
• Experience reading machining drawings, including GD&T.
• Experience reading weldment drawings, including AWS weld symbols.
• Experience with purchasing or establishing purchasing requirements.
• CAD modeling/drafting experience (e.g. AutoCad, Solidworks, Cero, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with ERP Software (e.g. SAP, Global Shop, Mapics, etc.)
• Experience working with 10CFR50 App B, NQA-1, ASME BPVC, MIL, DOE, NavSea type codes and standards.
• Familiarity with Nuclear Commercial Grade Dedication
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good math skills.
