Selectek is seeking an accomplished Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a highly diverse manufacturing facility specializing in engineer-to-order products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across multiple corporate manufacturing divisions and drive growth through the development of manufacturing capabilities and efficiency improvements. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, analytical, and progressive, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
About the Role:
The manufacturing operations include:
- A full-scale fabrication shop specializing in structural fabrications and copper processing.
- A machine shop with manual and CNC equipment.
- A silver-plating department.
- Offsite manufacturing partners.
- Multiple assembly areas for various product lines.
The Manufacturing Engineering team supports all areas, focusing on tools, dies, fixtures, equipment planning, and implementation to drive efficiency and cost reduction. Additional responsibilities include data analytics, new product launches, facility redesign, and manufacturing software support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design (3D modeling using SolidWorks), build, and test assembly tooling, machining fixtures, welding jigs, and die sets.
- Specify, evaluate, quote, and coordinate capital equipment investments from conception to installation.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods across all departments.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow for maximum efficiency.
- Lead and plan cost reduction initiatives and new product launches.
- Design and implement Lean and Six Sigma technologies to reduce lead times and inventory.
- Coordinate with vendors on equipment and material specifications, ensuring quality standards.
- Estimate production times, staffing needs, and costs for management decisions.
- Interface with peers, suppliers, and industry organizations to develop new process designs and technology concepts.
- Mentor and support other manufacturing engineers.
- Attend training sessions, seminars, and conferences to expand skills.
- Support corporate policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Working knowledge and application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with tooling and die.
- Experience with CNC machining and fabrication.
- Understanding of coding languages and Automation/PLC systems.
- Knowledge of capital purchases and implementations.
Preferred Attributes:
- Strong background in mechanical design, manufacturing leadership, and tooling development.
- Experience with high-voltage switch disconnectors or similar products.
- Ability to develop creative solutions to accommodate growth in a limited facility space.
Compensation: $90,000 - $115,000 annually (up to $120,000 for exceptional candidates).
