Manufacturing Engineer Job Duties:
The Manufacturing Engineer works with an experienced group of engineers to define, develop, document, and implement optimal manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Specific duties include but may not be limited to the following:
Supervises Assembly Team and Test Engineers
Works with development team on new product creation and improvements
Maintains product quality and cost efficiency
Directs inspection of products to company, supplier, and/or customer standards
Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
Develops, evaluates and improves processes to ensure that manufacturing specifications and procedures are adhered to in relation to quality, method, safety and costs
Provides detailed process documentation; ensures that manufacturing instructions include relevant, complete, and accurate quality requirements.
Continuously improves the manufacturing and quality control processes
Evaluates non-conformity causes and report results and corrective actions
Maintains the calibration system for hand tools and electronic measuring devices
Develops and manages program specific Quality plans and documentation based on contractual requirements
Coordinates quality procurement and inspection requirements for supplied items and materials
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Assures product and process quality by testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Maintains product BOM, product/manufacturing drawings and process routing.
Manufacturing Engineer Skills and Qualifications:
B.S. in Manufacturing, Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Minimum three years of experience in manufacturing environment.
Background in precision electro-mechanical assembly such as bearings, linear guides, alignment, and/or precision motion control highly preferred.
