What you'll do:Viasat is seeking a new Manufacturing Engineer to join the team! As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work to drive process improvement throughout all functional areas of Viasat. You might help conduct make/buy analysis, work in facilities planning, introduce new products, or plan future projects. While working in this cross-functional role, you will interface with many different departments in Viasat, including engineering, quality, purchasing, planning, logistics, and production to coordinate the release of new products, sustain the production of existing products, or conduct failure analysis of returned projects. This role requires a “can-do” attitude, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Provide technical expertise and support related to manufacturing processes
- Help resolve quality issues
- Develop process routings/plans using Solumina
- Troubleshoot equipment and tool issues
- Plan new equipment installations and product line moves
- Assist Engineering with new product development
- 5+ years as a manufacturing engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Solumina MES experience
- Solid Works experience
- Problem solving skills
- Great communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex engineering documents and drawings
- US citizenship required
- Up to 10% travel
What will help you on the job:
- Antenna systems experience
- Experience with Agile
- Green Belt and/or Black Belt training
- AutoCAD 2D or 3D
