Position Overview

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Chattanooga, TN. This role requires a candidate with strong expertise in LEAN manufacturing methods and experience within a high-mix, low-volume production environment. The selected engineer will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing workflows, and optimizing processes to support growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate project specifications and engineering documentation.
• Create standard work templates and manage revision control processes.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on optimizing equipment, systems, and processes.
• Improve manufacturing methods by implementing new processes and modifications.
• Support cross-functional teams to improve process optimization and workflow efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment, particularly with heavy machinery.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in LEAN manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Experienced with machine shop operations and metal-cutting processes, such as punch, plasma, and flame cutting.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and symbols.
• Interpersonal Skills: Effective in facilitating and managing cross-functional teams in a multi-shift work environment.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 per year
• Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package
