Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. is a manufacturer and military supplier. We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Assembler to produce and assemble electro-mechanical components and assemblies for power generation systems.
AGEC is an industry leader in the manufacturing and supply of ground support equipment (GSE) to global commercial and military customers and end users. AGEC operates two divisions, our OEM division designs and produces world-class GSE supporting a wide range of military aircraft platforms, on behalf of defense prime contractors and Government program offices. Our Commercial Division distributes an excellent line card of ground support equipment, parts, and service to global MRO, airline operators, Government agencies, and aviation end users.
Hours are 6 am – 2:30 pm, Monday – Friday in a climate controller environment.
What you will do:
- Collect the material and equipment needed to begin the assembly process.
- Assemble in accordance with guidelines outlined by the company.
- Selecting or modifying components according to measurements and specifications.
- Assemble the unit according to work instructions, drawings, prints, or layouts.
- Report on issues, malfunctions, or defective parts.
- Rotate and cross-train to familiarize the assembly process with each area.
- Operation of small power tools, other hand tools, and high-pressure equipment.
- Communicate with engineers and design staff to ensure consistency and troubleshoot any issues with engineers.
- Utilize a walk-behind forklift.
- Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
- Willing to train a person with applicable skills.
What you will need:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment as well as independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Exposure to mechanical and electrical skills.
- Excellent eye-hand coordination.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Soldering – J Standard certified preferred or willing to become certified.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- Position requires access to technology, materials, software, or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States.
- Candidates are required to provide proof of US citizenship
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, use hands to handle, or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. At times, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level at times is moderate.
