About the Job
Accounting Manager/Controller
We are looking for a highly skilled Accounting and Finance professional to join our team as we continue to grow our business. In this role you will directly to the Executive and Business Operations Team and handle all daily/monthly/annual accounting activities for all of our operations. To be successful in this role you will need to have a sound understanding of accounting fundamentals and activities associated with supporting manufacturing operations. But even beyond that, we are looking for someone who embodies our values and brings positive energy and insight to our team. Qualified candidates would also have a strong background in operational finance within manufacturing. Strong project management skills are essential in this role. Experience with a large or medium sized company is ideal, however, candidates from small, privately held manufacturing organizations will also be considered. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills are needed, as this role is highly visible and will partner with other departments.
What You'll Do
- Support ERP system (Odoo) implementation, ensuring flawless integration with existing frameworks.
- Execute a comprehensive analysis and optimization of the Cost Accounting Department.
- Collaborate with Production Department and Leadership to refine analytical capabilities, emphasizing data analysis and automation of manual tasks.
- Upgrade financial reporting systems and help incorporate tools like Power BI for data management.
- Ensure precise data capture and reporting across departments, fostering improved communication and processes
- Guide the transition from average to standard costing, adeptly handling variance analysis
- Integrate AI and other advanced solutions to streamline cost accounting operations
- Act as a crucial figure in risk management, particularly in cost and supply chain aspects
- Manage production workflow and cost analysis, encompassing purchase order management, forecasting, inventory control, and waste tracking
- Strategically analyze and optimize cost structures to support company scalability
- Proficient in working with Cost of Goods Sold (COGs) within an ERP system
- Month end closing and journal entries to ensure on-time reporting.
- Accuracy of Accounts Payable.
- Maintenance and Reconciliation of Perpetual inventory accurately.
- Monthly trending reports.
- Accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and trending to internal and external customers.
- Maintenance of financial integrity of newly implemented ERP system which includes working on upgrades and assisting other departments on training and working with all areas.
- Perform general bookkeeping duties, including posting information in QuickBooks.
- Maintaining weekly Goals/Objective spreadsheets.
- Support in forecasting and resource allocation discussions as it relates to cash flow.
- Cash flow analysis and support.
- Reviewing and accuracy of reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
- Regularly perform reconciling of accounts.
- Provide daily support of all AP/AR and GL for defined entities.
- Manage cash balances and reconcile statements.
- Assist with processing of monthly credit card statements.
- Prepare P/L statement and balance sheet.
- Generate 1099's and W-2's.
- Assist with budget preparations.
- Collect and maintain W-9 information of all vendors.
- Submit and reconcile expense reports.
- Process payroll checks.
- Process cash transactions.
- Make wire and ACH payments.
- Bank reconciliation.
- Maintain all required documents and records.

Requirements and/or Preference's
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, required
- 5 plus years of progressively responsible experience, required
- 5 plus years of manufacturing industry experience, required
- Plant Controller experience, highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of leadership and professionalism
- Strong Experience with Quickbooks and ERP systems.
- Experience with PowerBI
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, To-Do, Sharepoint).
This job requires 45+ hours a week plus the occasional evening/weekend based on project deadlines.
