Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Manual Machinist, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Operating manual machines including mills, lathes, vertical turning lathes (VTL), horizontal boring mills (HBM), and Bridgeport mill.
2. Measuring and inspecting parts using precision tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, gage blocks, and dial indicators.
3. Working with various materials including rotor and diaphragm.
4. Setting up and operating milling machines in accordance with project specifications.
5. Using a Blanchard grinder and boring bar to modify parts as necessary.
6. Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
7. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
8. Collaborating with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
9. Continually improving machining processes and techniques for efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Manual Machinist position will have the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Manual Machinist in the engineering industry.
2. Proficiency in operating manual machines including mills, lathes, VTL, HBM, and Bridgeport mill.
3. Experience with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, gage blocks, and dial indicators.
4. Familiarity with materials such as rotor and diaphragm.
5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
6. Experience with Blanchard grinder and boring bar.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
9. Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
