Manual Machinist - JARBO

Summary - Manual Machinist: This person will be using a manual lathe in a temperature-controlled room to machine parts at extremely high tolerances. They will be inspecting their work and others with a CMM and laser tracker. There will also be assembly work involved and documentation of measurements that are used in certification to our customers.

Responsibility Summary - Manual Machinist:

• Manually machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders
• Aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
• Calculating dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers
• Maintaining tight tolerances of +/- .0001
• Monitor the quality of components using a wide range of equipment including CMM inspection and departmental quality documentation
• Uses ERP system and quality system, creates certificates of compliance and documents serialized product for warranty purposes.
• Uses general hand tools for assembly

Qualification Summary - Manual Machinist:

• 5+ years of manual machining experience on lathes
• Ability to setup machinery for new part runs
• Ability to hold tight tolerances
• Experience utilizing a CMM machine for inspection of parts you manually machine 
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
