THE OPPORTUNITY
Moonshot edVentures seeks a Managing Director or Operations to translate Moonshot’s strategic goals into actionable plans. The MD will oversee the day-to-day operations across finance, operations, fundraising, and facilities, ensuring the organization operates efficiently and effectively. This role will manage the finance and operations sub-team, including three full-time staff. This is a new role on the team and this person will report directly to the CEO.

This person will be managed by the CEO and will sit on the Leadership Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
[40%] People & Team Management
- Manage and develop full-time and part-time staff toward ambitious goals, including:
- Director, Finance & Operations in their responsibilities of creating, managing, and sustaining excellent financial and operational processes and systems.
- Manager, Development in their responsibilities of grant management and fundraising support to the CEO
- Manager, Operations & Executive Support in their responsibilities of Tenant Communication, Scheduling, Policy & Billing Management; Office Organization & Equipment Maintenance; Executive Support (calendar and inbox management for the Leadership Team)
- Manage all staff hiring, onboarding, and HR processes to ensure high-performing staff are hired, supported, and retained, including the design, execution, systems management (JazzHR), and coordination of team involvement.
[30%] Finance & Fundraising
- Ensure efficiency and efficacy of Moonshot’s financial systems, including monthly financial close, final transaction approval, monitoring ongoing KPIs, and reviewing financial statements and budget to actual reports.
- Serve as final reviewer and approver on quarterly donor allocations
- Support department heads and Leadership Team as needed to ensure budget compliance and strong fiscal stewardship
- Support the CEO with strong fundraising backend systems, including but not limited to the following:
- Lead the design and facilitation of fundraising sub-team bimonthly meetings
- Lead Board Development (Fundraising) Committee, including design and facilitation with input from the CEO
[20%] The Station (Coworking Space)
- Set and execute the vision for The Station as a high-functioning, joyful, and efficient coworking space through the management of staff, tenant recruitment, retention and communication, facilities operations, vendors, and budget.
[10%] Team-wide Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to drive the organization's strategic direction as part of the Leadership Team.
- Attend weekly team meetings and manager check-ins, quarterly stepbacks, all-team events (Showcase), and an annual retreat; complete team-wide responsibilities and asks as needed (e.g. providing input for strategic planning).
- Work to achieve meaningful outcomes, contribute to building a strong team and culture and commit to own learning development aligned to Moonshot Core Values.
- Serve as an ethical and responsible organizational steward of Moonshot internally and externally.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This role will manage a coworking space and a full-time, in-person staff member and must be on-site 2-3 times per week.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Fair Wages: The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $120,000
