Job Summary:
Under the leadership of the COO, the Manager of Operations (MOO) is responsible for the success of the day-to-day non-clinical operations of the organization, ensuring departments and functions under the MOO are meeting established goals. Manager of Operations provides organizational leadership in building and overseeing relationships within operations. He/she works to ensure that the necessary infrastructural process and systems are in place to meet the organization’s strategic plan. Responsible to implement organizational processes in accordance with policies and strategic direction as established by the Executive Team. Develop systems and procedures necessary to drive efficient operations across all health center delivery sites. Ensure corporate compliance with relevant federal requirements for FQHC’s in practice operations and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Directs activities of assigned departments, in collaboration with department managers.
- Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departmental managers.
- Assists staff with the implementation of departmental goals, policies, procedures, and reporting tools through effective use of performance metrics and financial results
- Promotes a team approach to delivering high quality, cost-efficient care where patient satisfaction and improved health outcomes are the primary goals
- Provides for all staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence and support an open-door policy among all staff
- Participates in regular quality and process improvement meetings with other clinic administrators and executive leadership
- Develop, implement, review and update policies and procedures surrounding quality improvement, productivity, customer service and risk management, and assigned departments
- Monitor, revise and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; assess and monitor workload, administrative and support systems and internal reporting relationships
- Ensure that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with internal policies and procedures, accreditation standards and local, state and federal regulations
- Maintain compliance with workflows, policies and procedures as well as other activities to support PCMH model of care, AAAHC accreditation, FTCA and HRSA rules and regulations.
- Lead assigned committees
- Assist with new employee orientation as necessary
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
- Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Minimum of a B.A. Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or other relevant area, with 5 plus years of management experience in a healthcare environment. (Previous experience in an FQHC/CHC setting and knowledge of requirements is preferred).
Registered Nurse preferred
