The Encore Boston Harbor Learning and Development Manager is a highly skilled, passionate, and experienced learning and development professional who would be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Learning and Development department in addition to designing, implementing, and facilitating training programs at all levels especially leadership development. This role is responsible for overseeing the learning and development specialists, managing multiple projects with competing deadlines, training design and implementation, and LMS administration. As a leader in L&D, this role will also be facilitating company-wide learning programs and mentoring others.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures Encore Boston Harbor’s standard of excellence is consistently upheld across all departmental activities and offerings.
- Facilitates property wide leadership development programs.
- Partner with department leaders to identify learning needs and design custom learning interventions for departments using the ADDIE model.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth mindset.
- Oversee the design and delivery of best-in-class training programs that includes classroom, eLearning, and blended learning, and strategically incorporate work simulations, scenarios and gamification to enhance the learning experience.
- Manages the performance of team members under his/her area of responsibility and develops L&D specialists by cofacilitating, observing, and recording facilitation while providing immediate feedback and coaching.
- Supports the Director in the development and implementation of learning initiatives.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and identifies areas for improvement to enhance the learning experience.
- Co-manages the Learning Management System (LMS) with team, managing audiences, launching new courses, creating scripts and videos, and designing eLearning for property-wide, division and department initiatives.
- Applies adult learning theory and processes to develop instructor led and eLearning class content, training aids, and support material.
- Lead the development and execution of internal communication and employee engagement strategies and programs to support our culture and create a positive work environment for employees.
- Collaborates with Wynn Resorts training partners to share best practices and resources.
- Engages in self-directed work, crafts and maintains timetables for projects, drives deadlines and resources, and works with a high degree of creativity and personal responsibility.
- Leads multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
- Assists in research and recommendations for outside training support such as higher education initiatives, ESL, D&I and eLearning.
- Reports to the Director of Learning & Employee Culture.
- Performs additional responsibilities as needed or requested.

Age, Gaming and Certifications:
21 years of age or above.
Will be required to obtain and maintain registration, or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or related field and at least 5 years of experience designing and delivering learning programs with significant leadership training experience (or an equivalent combination of training, education and professional experience).
- 1 - 3 years of people management experience.
- Proven presentation and communication skills at all levels of the organization including the ability to quickly gain credibility with senior level management.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and e-learning development tools.
- Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance conflicting priorities as well as meet deadlines under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to support a 24/7 operation.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English required, second language a plus. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to decipher various reports and craft and maintain reports upon request.
