Key Responsibilities:
- Direct, train, and motivate a team dedicated towards effectively managing the warranty reserve budget through financial analysis and reporting in close collaboration with Finance.
- Identifying, creating, and implementing cost saving initiatives.
- Negotiating warranty reimbursement rates with 650+ dealers.
- Improving vehicle reacquisition processes to reduce unnecessary expenditures.
- Drive the search for repair solutions to each cost driver through the appropriate problem resolution channel (CA or AQ) depending on the nature of the technical problem or the time-consuming repair procedure.
- Define & communicate such cost reduction opportunities developed to the various stakeholders at BMW NA and at BMW AG.
- Follow-up on the timely implementation of a technical solution or an improved repair procedure once it is developed at the BMW AG, BMW NA, and at dealer level.
- Handle escalated cases when the problem resolution or implementation is not occurring in a timely manner.
- Direct the work to identify dealer related opportunities for warranty cost reduction through the analysis of cost anomalies for given repairs compared to statistical standards. Communicate the list of such dealers to the VP of Aftersales and to the Regional VPs and ensure the Regional Aftersales Managers and the Area Aftersales Managers coach dealers to address high warranty cost/ frequency anomalies and troubleshoot their workshop processes to resolve the process inefficiencies.
- Manage the review of product related improvement and dealership process improvement identified through analysis of cost drivers that lead to the reduction of vehicle reacquisitions.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of a nationwide process of vehicle reacquisitions for each Region/Market/State to adhere to.
- Supervise the analyzing of warranty labor rate and parts reimbursement increase rate requests for all BMW, MINI, and Motorrad Dealers and ensure any and all cost saving actions are implemented with each request.
- Negotiate with Dealership Management (Center Operator, General Manager, etc) to reach reimbursement rate.
- Supervise the management of all warranty data with respect to integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the data stores and databases.
- Oversee the management of the IT system information related to BMW and MINI dealers from the warranty perspective to ensure Warranties claims are properly processed at both BMW AG and BMW NA.
- Collaborate with AQ, Legal, and Recall Team to monetize the impact of a recall or class action and reserve calculation.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the UK, China, Germany, Brazil, on legal regulations, warranty reimbursement rates, and cost saving opportunities.
- Design and implement new process improvement, reacquired vehicle, data mining, and warranty reimbursement rate policies and procedures as necessary.
- Advise internal management teams (Warranty, Aftersales, BMW FS, Motorrad, Finance, Controlling) regarding current program spend or dealer performance anomalies (i.e., claims, profitability, efficiencies, etc.) via periodic review meetings and reporting.
- Consult Finance department for their planning, cost evaluation, and the cost assessment.
- Travel to Regions and Dealerships to influence and implement process improvements and dealer facing programs.
- Lead the development and implementation of any necessary system updates or enhancements to Dealer facing programs.
- Work with the Legal department to ensure that all regulations are being adhered to.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assign targets.
- Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization and create presentations of findings.
- Present findings and recommendations to Executive Management.
- Interview, hire, terminate, train, motivate, review, manage compensation, and discipline team members.

The pay range for this role is: $114,067.00 - $142,318.00.
The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- 5-7 years of experience in a financial, technical, engineering or process management role in retail/wholesale with proven success including:
- Minimum 1-2 Years' experience working with dealer processes
- Experience performing financial analysis with large data sets
- Proven cost management experience
- Experience setting standards for a group
- Experience with quality control
- Experience steering groups outside of direct responsibility
- Proven ability to drive performance in an organization
- Proficient in data analytics
- Overnight travel estimated at 20%
- International travel is required
Preferences:
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Quality, Finance, or Automotive Technology
- Ability to negotiate with internal and external partners
- Previous experience working with AG quality departments preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
- Experience in measuring or establishing reserves is desirable
- Strong Project Management skills (Previous experience leading a project)
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to plan and execute tasks in order to achieve high level targets
