About the Job
Manage the revenue generated by TEX (Transportation Express) department with integrity to achieve key performance goals. Will direct, supervise, and coordinate all logistics activities for TEX. Responsibilities include management of personnel, customer, supplier and carrier relationships, safety, compliance, and other operations as necessary.
Hours: Mon - Fri; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Hours may vary depending on season)
Required Experience/Education:
- 3-5 years of working experience in Sales within the Logistics & 3PL industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Transportation or Management ; with 3 to 5 years management or sales experience within Logistics or 3PL Indu s try or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Operations Management, Heavy Truck, Rail, and International Marine Dry Bulk experience is a plus. P&L experience required .
- Experience in process improvement preferred, such as Lean/Six Sigma, TQM, Value Stream Mapping
- Some traveling may be required
- This role will require a valid driver license to drive a company vehicle
Revenue Management - 25%
- Responsible for the overall Revenue of TEX.
- Maintain a rate structure that will support lease and owned equipment with an agreed rate of return.
- Manage Revenue vs Cost for carrier loads
Strategy and Collaboration - 15%
- D evelop strategic plans to increase TEX profitability and growth objectives .
- Participates in short-term and long-term discussions on personnel, suppliers, carriers and capital improvements
- Collaborate with Crop Nutrients business unit
Personnel and Process Management - 20%
- Manages, develops and supervises team, including changes to duties as required by business/seasonal needs
- High level of self-motivation, excellent organizational skills & ability to multi-task with sense of urgency.
- Provides leadership and direction to team, including performance management, development opportunities and quarterly feedback/ reviews
- Embrace, promote and lead continuous improvement efforts, including efficient and appropriate standard operating processes, controls and segregation of duties
Customer, Supplier, and Carrier Management - 25%
- Builds, develops and maintains relationships with internal and external customers ( e.g. suppliers, alignment members, other delivered customers)
- Owns overall relationships with top carriers and outside suppliers
- Delegates customer service requests to staff, resolves complex cases escalated by staff
- Leads team in providing top-tier customer service
Compliance and Safety - 15%
- Promotes Safe, compliant and injury free operational performance
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local and company safety and other regulatory policies.
- Works closely with Manager , TEX Truck Operations on equipment planning, acquisition and maintenance.
- Ensures compliance with customs processes for all international shipments
